The Super Deluxe version of David Lynch’s “The Big Dream” to be released on January 27th!

We are pleased to announce the release of the limited edition Super Deluxe version of David Lynch‘s “The Big Dream“, out on Monday January 27th 2014.

The master of cinema released his second album to critical acclaim in July of this year and this will now be followed up with a very special Super Deluxe version.

The Super Deluxe box includes the following: the full CD album, a CD of bonus tracks and exclusive remixes, a CD of instrumental versions, a 7″ Heavy Vinyl, a 7″ booklet, a fold out poster and an embossed key ring.  There will only be 500 of these stylish limited edition Super Deluxe box sets produced worldwide.

This release will also be available to download digitally from Monday December 16th as the Deluxe version which includes the full CD album and a second CD of bonus tracks and exclusive remixes, detailed below in this post.

You can pre-order the Deluxe digital download or the Super Deluxe “The Big Dream” box set via our Sunday Best store or alternatively you can download the digital Deluxe version via iTunes HERE.

The box set will be packaged in typical Lynchian style, distinctive and macabre. The second CD in the Deluxe download out December 16th and the Super Deluxe box set out January 27th will include two previously unreleased tracks including ‘And Light Shines’. Harrowing in the best possible way, warped and nightmarish ‘Bad the John Boy’ is the second of these two tracks. It was written during the making of “The Big Dream” and is available to listen to HERE. This second CD also includes four scorching remixes from none other than Bastille, Hot Since 82, Venetian Snares and Yttling Jazz.

Chart toppers Bastille have transformed Lynch’s ‘Are You Sure’ into an atmospheric and emotive track, complete with a deep and dramatic drum beat and laced with choral harmonies.

Up and coming producer Hot Since 82 is on remixing duty for his interpretation of ‘Wishin’ Well’. Renowned across the electronic music scene for his distinctive bass heavy production, Hot Since 82’s ‘Wishin’ Well’ remix is a catchy and propelling house track.

Next up is a remix of the album’s title track, ‘The Big Dream’ , from Venetian Snares. Known for producing music in strange and slightly discombobulated time signatures, Aaron Funk aka Venetian Snares successfully makes ‘The Big Dream’ all the more haunting. Lynch’s distorted vocals combined with the Venetian Snares production echo around you in a cacaphony of sound.

Finally, the Yttling Jazz band have remixed ‘We Rolled Together’. Yttling Jazz is the brainchild of Bjorn Yttling, better known as one third of Peter Bjorn and John. Yttling has built on the existing production of ‘We Rolled Together’ and brought in an intense string section, making the finished track a more uplifting version than its predecessor.

As well as the two CDs, the Super Deluxe box will include a third CD made up of instrumental versions of the entirety of ‘The Big Dream’ as well as ‘I’m Waiting Here’ with Swedish songstress Lykke Li, ‘And The Light Shines’ and ‘Bad the John Boy’. Also included in the beautiful boxed package will be a 7″ Heavy Vinyl with ‘Bad the John Boy’ on one side and the Bastille remix of ‘Are You Sure’ on the other.

As always with the multi-talented David Lynch, the Super Deluxe version of “The Big Dream” is not all about the music. There’s a beautiful 7″ booklet containing the lyrics and photographs taken by the creative extraordinaire himself; a fold out poster; and an individually numbered keyring with the striking “The Big Dream” cover image embossed upon it. All this Super Deluxe “The Big Dream” goodness is packaged up in a stunning box featuring exclusive special addition artwork.

This very limited and very special deluxe release will doubtless be snapped up extremely quickly. Head over to the Sunday Best store HERE to pre-order.
