Description & tracklisting

Silver Bear Recordings announce new signing, Kilig, to the label. After a strong end to 2019, the Night Tales (London) resident landed DJ Mag’s release of the month in November 2019, and aims to make another big impression with new EP ‘Blue Coat, Red Dress’.

Kilig successfully merges industrial, minimal and ambient elements to forge a new-take on London’s signature rave sound. Ben UFO, Call Super, Soairse, Batu, Ross From Friends, Overmono and Midland are all fans, and has been named on the BBC Introducing ‘Hot List’. Consistently picking up great reviews from their peers on an abundance of unreleased music they continue to play an ever wider sphere of revered clubs.

The title track opens with emotive, intriguing bells and pads, building into a crescendo of breaksy drum grooves and crispy sub bass patterns. Chemical Friends is a late night, zoned out fusion of house and bass with big kicks and resonating synths that complement the lush ambience and DIY percussive sounds. Z then aims squarely at the floor, with broken beats overlaid on pulsating basslines and rising pads. Notforyou is a poignant and moving end to the EP with uplifting string arrangements, held synths and gentle whispers that bring the 4 tracker to a close.

Another standout EP from this exciting new artist.
