Description & tracklisting

“Their musicianship would put several older groups to shame.” Independent on Sunday

“The sound of yesteryear, but also a band for the future.” NME
Encapsulating the raw energy that brother-and-two-sister band Kitty Daisy & Lewis always bring on stage, ‘Going Up The Country’ is a rhythm chopping, hand clapping hymn to the delights of getting away from it all. The joyous escapism is evident as Daisy and Kitty chant ‘Leave this city, got to get away’, over the tinkering piano and staccato double bass. Urging us all to jump on the adventure wagon it’s a feel good summer time sing-a-long.

After hooking up on stage 5 years ago in a pub in North London, siblings Kitty, Daisy & Lewis have been busying themselves touring and going through education, while all the time making the highly anticipated album – out this July. Now the wait is over as their sensational new single – ‘Going Up The Country’ – from the exuberant self-titled debut long player, is upon us!

The 5 piece band’s live shows are notoriously stunning, seeing them most recently supporting some of the UK’s most respected musicians, including Jools Holland, Billy Bragg, Richard Hawley, alongside some newer guns like Mark Ronson, Razorlight, Mika and The Rumble Strips. Their energetic playing and swapping of instruments on stage always gets feet shuffling and will be dominating the stages on all the festivals this summer.

‘Kitty, Daisy & Lewis’, the album, is out July 28th on Sunday Best Recordings.
