Description & tracklisting

“It’s a rare thing for me to hear a record these days and smile like a preteen hearing something new and exciting and something I had to have for myself” DMC Update : 5/5 Single of the Week

“Features beats for every occasion … for a healthy dose of feel good moshing, stick on the Foamo Remix!” Mixmag 4/5

Dub Pistols have released their new single ‘I’m In Love’ via Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best Recordings on a stylish dinked 7″ and download.

‘I’m In Love’ is the second track to be released from the Dub Pistols highly-acclaimed recent album, ‘Rum & Coke’. Featuring ex-Beats International Lindy Layton and UK hip hop don Rodney P on vocals, the 7″ comes backed with their own dub version of ‘I’m In Love’, while on digital there are remixes fromFoamo, Cotti, RSD, Groove Diggerz, Sunday Best’s own remix and more…

Beats International’s Lindy Layton makes a guest appearance on the track. “It’s great because we’ve never had a girl singing on anything before with this kind of bloke mentality“, says Jason. Lindy’s also been adding a feminine touch at Dub Pistols gigs. “We’ve performed a couple of times with her“, says Barry. “As soon as you play ‘Dub Be Good To Me’ people just go fucking berserk. Then ‘Guns of Brixton’ and a bit of Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King and it goes crazy!

The band, whose upbeat album has been quoted as having the “most laid-back grooves designed to keep spirits cool at carnival time” by The Independent, will be busy performing live throughout the summer and autumn at festivals in the UK and abroad… while Barry Ashworth also has plenty of DJ dates on the horizon.

“These boys can bring the party at the drop of a Fedora” Clash
“Something of a star of a very fine album” The Fly
“Really leaves you on a high” Evening Standard
“Most laid back grooves designed to keep spirits cool at carnival time” The Independent
“A hip-hop / ska / reggae skank machine who’ve become perennial festival faves …couldn’t epitomise summer more” DJ
