Treat Me Right

London based artist Slumberjunkie AKA Jed Hampson, is proud to announce the release of their latest single, ‘Treat Me Right.’ The high energy new track continues Slumberjunkie’s impressive form and marks a significant turning point in his musical journey, showcasing a profound depth of emotion and artistic evolution.

“Treat me right was the song that started this whole new wave of songs off. I’d been in a very clouded and passive state for a while and this song was kind of a plea from one part of me to another – to recognise life can be good if you can just pull your head out of the mud,” says Slumberjunkie.

‘Treat Me Right’ is an introspective exploration set against the backdrop of lush jungle rhythms and dynamic drum and bass beats. The track’s intricate production and emotive lyrics create dynamic soundscapes reminiscent of artists like Nia Archives and Coco Bryce.

Having received an abundance of support from the likes of BBC Introducing, DJ Mag and Mixmag (the latter listing his previous single Waiting For Us as one of their tracks of the month), Slumberjunkie’s experimental methods aren’t going unnoticed, and his latest offering only further cements his place as one of the UK’s most forward thinking producers.

“I know the track itself seems really melancholy but for me it’s this intense catharsis, a period where I was shedding weight in order to start moving. Making it was also probably the longest time I’ve ever spent on a song and it feels quite important to me to get it out from under my feet.”
