I think the main grumble about the day tickets last year was the overcrowding in the kids garden on saturday last year and a bit of a change in atmosphere, so I hope that the new announcement really does mean 'limited' but more that they are spread across the weekend? but it didnt really spoil anything for us last year - we just found other stuff to do than hang out in the KG on saturday, so like I said hopes rather moans :)) xx .......2 sleeps :)) |

Extremely annoyed and disappointed that they have "moved the goalposts". Day tickets changed the atmosphere last year, and however many there are available this year, the vibe changes and you get people who don't give a sh## entering the site as well. This last minute change of mind is an insult to everyone who has got their weekend tickets. Iam sure you knew all along this was going to occur. Very underhanded guys. Not good at all. I may even sell our tickets out of principal. I feel that strongly. |

oooh I just saw that. what does very limited mean? honestly if Saturday is a repeat of last year I probably won't go again (and that's a big thing for me cos CB can't do anything wrong in my book). not happy about that at all, I agree the festival site totally changed on the Saturday. harrumph :0( |

As a closing comment on this, in future we shall choose a festival where the organisers are up front and honest from the outset relating to ticket types and entry criteria. And choose a festival where the attendees are there for the whole event, and as such look after the site, keep the vibe alive, and enjoy as a collective. That my friends is a festival, not a day trippers jolly or theme park!!!!!! You will lose loyal festival goers over this. |

i would guess that the statement "a very small number of day tickets available to locals with the bh/dt postcode" could mean three things 1/ there will be hoards of people on one day like last year (note they were mostly there to watch PJ harvey in my opinion) 2/ the ticket sales haven't been as vigorous as last year and they have to break even you cant just open the doors with unsold tickets unsellable. 3/ its a nice gesture to the locals who have to put up with the 15000 people who will trapes through there lovely village Badger badger Badger My twitter |

As a local who was really disappointed not to have the day ticket option again this year, I'm happy... but since I already made alternative plans for all 3 days of CB I won't be battling my way to the castle tmrw morning despite the rule change. P.S. Nope, didn't turn up for PJ Harvey last year. I went, with toddler, because it's the closest festival to my home and the only one I could justify spending any money on with a tight budget. I can't afford a weekend ticket, which seems to be the best way to exclude festival-loving folk in a recession... |

I'm saying 2. DT/BH postcodes is a massive area to offer tickets to. It's not really 'locals'. The day ticket issues being raised here didn't bother us too much last year, but we don't have kids. I do think weekend only is better, but i certainly won't let it stop me having a good time. |

I have to agree there - covers Bournemouth to Swanage along the coast up to Blandford in the north so pretty much the whole of Dorset?? I live in north dorset so know the area pretty well. I've posted earlier that I hope the day tickets will be spread across the wkend not concentrated on the saturday - as this is the main cause of grumbles - otherwise happy weekend to everyone :)) xx |

Yh, but not being a local you don't realise how our few roads getting gnarled up will affect us who live here. The postcode areas cover those most affected. It's very little compensation - being allowed to pay £60 for a day to attend isn't really getting away with it. |

Lulworth sits in a BH postcode but is just 4 miles from a DT postcode. The DT postcode (DT2) covers a huge ring around Dorchester extending over 20 miles in all directions while the BH postcode is basically Wareham and Swanage, the latter full of pensioners. Despite what some might believe, Dorset is not the crime capital of the UK. Although I think one of my sheep may be secretly doing huge amounts of grass...... |
