hi all - red funnel are offering a 15% discount of ferry travel, especially for bestival forum users! Here's what they had to say... "Customers have started booking early so some of the times have moved up to the next fare level already, but we'd be very happy to provide you with a special promotion code for your forum members. The promo code which will need to be typed when booking is 'BES99' which will give 15% off all our online ferry fares. This will run for a limited period and we reserve the right to withdraw it at any stage. It is valid for booking between 6 to 18 September." so there you go... get booking! although that said, we'd still much prefer it if you left you car at home if at all possible! Merry Christmas one and all! x www.sundaybest.net www.recordstore.co.uk/sundaybest www.bestiblog.net www.facebook.com/sundaybestrecordings www.facebook.com/bestivalfestival www.facebook.com/campbestival www.myspace.com/sombrerosoundsystem |

Sorry to start moaning already but i have just checked ferry prices for 2010 and they have shot up. According to the Red Funnel website the ferry to the IOW on the Thursday (afternoon) is £73 - return on the Monday (morning) is £69 - yet if you did the same journey a week previously the cost would be £50 and £36.50 respectively. So even with the 15% discount (which i havent applied here) they are screwing us totally! We have travelled via Red Funnel to 4 previous Bestivals but might think about Wightlink for this year - does anyone know what they are like? (they certainly look cheaper). Red Funnel get a good deal out of us already, their bars and cafe takings must be great for the Bestival weekend. |

hi - the reason why the cost is more for the bestival weekend is that a lot of people have already got in there early and bought up the cheaper tickets. it works much in the same way as when you fly by easyjet or ryanair... If you cash them in for away day deals (or something like that) you'll get 4 x the face value of the voucher. My crossing was £93 & I had £60 worth of vouchers (£15 face value) so it's cost me £33 for a car & 4 passengers. I don't shop in Tesco, just buy my petrol with them. The points soon add up !! |

Howdy campers... When you book your ferry, make sure you use the Express Online Booking form on the Red Funnel home page rather than the Buy Online tab because the latter doesn't allow you to input the Promo Code. We soo need that 15% Discount!!! Kitty |
