hi all - we've taken the decision to remove the ticket swap shop section of this forum. this has been done as this forum is simply not capable of providing a safe place for people to buy and sell tickets. Reluctantly i would suggest you stick to sites like seatwave.com, viagogo.co.uk and getmein.com who can provide you with a safe place to buy and sell, even if it does mean you may end up paying over the odds. x www.sundaybest.net www.recordstore.co.uk/sundaybest www.bestiblog.net www.facebook.com/sundaybestrecordings www.facebook.com/bestivalfestival www.facebook.com/campbestival www.myspace.com/sombrerosoundsystem |

Can always try [url]www.scarletmist.co.uk as it's the ethical place to buy/sell tickets, I've found tickets through them before and was V pleased. They have measures in place to protect buyers and sellers and the tickets are sold & bought at face value. They haven't got any tickets listed on there at the moment but you can set up a notification for when they do :) x Get ready to show love and respect for each other and your festival in 2010. I would still be careful with scarletmist as well though. I signed up to get notifications for Bestival tickets and got an email saying someone called Penny from Leeds had tickets, but she had a telephone number that had a Doncaster area code (she claimed it was her boyfriend's, but it didn't ring when you rang it). She kept on asking me to pay her through paypal and then she'd send the tickets but it was al very fishy. Her address changed from a central Leeds address, to Bisby (a village a few miles outside Leeds) a few times. I'm just saying be savvy and don't jump in too quickly. If they go shy when you ask them to send the confirmation email or you ask for a phone number and they sidestep the question, beware! |

We prefer buyers and sellers to meet in person. This is the safest way - if necessary you can meet at the gig. If you cannot do this, we recommend you use an escrow service, which acts as a 'middle man'. We provide a link to Auctionchex, who provide escrow and financial services; there is a small charge for using this. I used the escrow thing, you send the money to the middle man, middle man lets ticket person know they have money, ticket person sends tickets to middle man, middle man then sends money and tickets on. Even with the charge you'd still be saving money :) Get ready to show love and respect for each other and your festival in 2010. Hi there. Are you aware of any other tickets being sold, for the whole festival, 9th-12th? I need just 1 ticket and am unsure of where to look for one! Are the 3 sites you mentioned in your first post reliable places to look for one and would they have one at this stage? Thanks for any help. duncan (forum mod) wrote: hi all - 2 bestival tickets are being auctioned on ebay for a very good cause here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/roundtablegraciemayappeal more info about the cause here: www.graciemay.org.uk x |

best bet m8ty i to check out REAL ticket websites or if your really desperate but in my mind not recommended is to ask in the questions section for anybody in your area who is selling 1 and meet them face to face and that they sell them at face value. Good luck anyways Bestival Forum Campsite Founder, Proud WI Regular and all round nutter? |

What do you mean by 'REAL' ticket websites? |

So if the swap forum has been taken down, I'm assuming that the selling of tickets on here is totally discouraged? I've had much success getting tickets from these forums over the years, all for face value and with no hitches, and it's sad to see that it's become what it has. It's even sadder to see that charging way over the odds for a ticket is effectively being encouraged. Even gumtree, where you usually find people being more reasonable, has people wanting silly money. Guess I'll have to wait until the week before once people start being sensible with their pricings. And before anyone says "You should've got them sooner": yes, I should've but I didn't and couldn't for various reasons. |
